melcher-dallas-3

With the 2020 portion of the season just about to start, the Melcher-Dallas boys basketball team has been on a roll, winning three in a row. However their next couple games could be a big test for them. Monday when the players are back in school they will have a home game against 5-2 Murray High School. They will follow that the next night with an away game against the Seymour Warhawks. They beat the Warhawks a few weeks ago before the break, but Seymour is 6-2 and sitting in 3rd place of the Bluegrass Conference. Assistant coach Pat Ferguson says that while the first part of the season didn’t necessarily go as planned, he has confidence that his team will enter 2020 with high spirits.

“The kids are pretty smart and I kept telling them after every single game sometimes it’s just not good to look down the road of your schedule but I told them our first three games were against three very good opponents and then there was about 5 or 6 games in a row that if we come to play we can take care of business, Cardinal had a very good team, they didn’t miss all night so that’s sort of a little hiccup for us but right now I feel pretty confident in our team and I think guys spirits are up”

Head Coach Jim Wells is also expected to be back for the game on Monday, January 6th against Murray High School.
