The PCM basketball teams are finally saying goodbye to their Christmas break, getting back into game action this evening at Roland-Story. For the 4-4 Mustang girls, it will be one of the toughest tests of the season, as Roland-Story enters as the seventh-ranked team in Class 3A. It’s a balanced team that shoots well and takes good care of the ball, and Head Coach Jeff Lindsay says it will be a challenge for his team, but he hopes they will grow from the experience.

“Coming out against Roland-Story is going to be a challenge, they’re one of the top three teams in our conference, they’re another rated team in Class 3A, they’re going to challenge us from all angles. So I think coming out of the break it’ll be a good test for us. We’ll see if we’ve improved in certain areas against a quality team. Plus it’s going to be on the road, so getting tested against a good team on the road is going to just help us grow.”

Roland-Story enters with a 7-1 record, with the lone loss coming against Class 4A #5 Gilbert.

The 4-3 Mustang boys will try to find some consistency against a Norsemen team that enters with a record of 5-2. Roland-Story has proven to be an efficient team, shooting 40 percent as a team on the season. PCM will have to overcome a team that is statistically superior in nearly every phase.

The girls game is scheduled for a 6:00 tipoff, with the boys to follow at approximately 7:30 at Roland-Story High School in Story City.
