The Pella Community Services department recently announced plans for the annual ice skating rink at Caldwell Park. The ice building process at the rink will begin as soon as the weather stays consistently cold during both nighttime and daytime hours, according to staff. While the upcoming stretch of above average weather will not allow staff to build ice, they intend to release occasional updates as that status changes. The ice building process will begin once temperatures are below freezing at night and not exceeding 36 degrees during the day over the course of several days. The Caldwell Park ice skating rink didn’t open in 2019 until January 21st.
