After a brief pause on the Warren County Justice Center project after the outcome of the most recent bond issue in November, the project planning will pick back up again in January. Board Assistant Megan Andrew tells KNIA News the bond failed to reach the 60% threshold necessary, but bids for the project are out to contractors and will be back early in 2020.

“The user group has been working to bring the cost down to re-bid the project, and we will get those back in January. Once those come back and the board gets the final numbers, they will be presented with the final options on how to go about financing it or other options with the project.”

No official decisions have been made, but discussions on receiving extra funds through a re-offering premium on the current bonds totaling $29.9 million or moving the location of the building off the square entirely have been put forth by the board.
