The Pella City Council will hold its first meeting of the new year Tuesday, with several new faces beginning their terms of office. Mayor Don DeWaard, and council members Liz Sporrer, Dave Hopkins, and Calvin Bandstra were all elected in November, and join returning members Bruce Scheibout, Mark DeJong, and Lynn Branderhorst, all of whom are in the middle of their current terms. The board will review organizational agenda items, including the appointment of a mayor pro-tem and city clerk, designation of official publication and financial depositories, and a review of procedural rules during policy and planning. The Pella City Council meeting begins Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
