The Indianola girls and boys basketball teams resume the Little Hawkeye Conference portion of their schedule tonight traveling on the road to Dallas Center-Grimes. The Indians girls are searching for their first win of the new year after falling to Lewis Central on Saturday, and head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports his team needs to step up to win some tough road games.

“With the heck of a schedule that we have right away to start the year, how do we respond when we are playing a team that is really good and in an environment that we are not used to. So consistency, intensity, and making sure that we are not just a three-point shooting team. We are going to play fast and be tough as well, in order to win.”

The boys are looking to continue their five game winning streak after a win against the Titans Saturday, and will face a Mustangs squad that has yet to lose a game this season and sits atop the conference standings. The games can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6pm, with tip-off scheduled for 6:15.

The Indianola boys swimming team also hosts Southeast Polk tonight at the Indianola YMCA. The Indians are off to a good start this season having won several meets, but will face competition for the first time since December 14th. Action starts tonight at 5:30pm.
