The Pella wrestling team opens the 2020 calendar with a road conference meet this evening. Norwalk will welcome the Dutch grapplers in a dual meet this evening. Head Coach Jay Pike says the Warriors are once again the cream of the crop in the league, and will present a tough challenge to open the new year.

“They’re a tough team and their coach has done a great job with that program,” Pike says. “I think it will be a great marking point for us to see where we stack up. We saw a few of their kids at the [Bill Van Horn] tournament…I’m sure they’ve been putting in some work but so have our kids, so we can probably turn the tide on some of those close matches.”

Matches begin at 6:30 p.m. at Norwalk High School.
