The third and final Chris Street Memorial Basketball tournament of the season will take place tomorrow, raising money for the Indianola Athletics Booster Club. Assistant Activities Director Jon Fitzpatrick tells KNIA News hosting the tournament in honor of Chris Street is a way to preserve and spread a positive memory of someone who meant a lot to the community.

“We are starting to maybe date ourselves, but it’s a good reminder for all of our kids of who Chris Street was and what he means to the community still. But also for other communities to come in and learn who he was and what he means to us.”

The tournaments have been held since 1974, and the games will be held in the Blake Fieldhouse and Indianola Middle School.
