As a new decade was recently ushered in, the Knoxville Police Department took a look back at how the department fared over the decade. According to the department from 2010 through 2019, 10,087 cases were handled resulting in 3,481 total arrests. Of the arrests, 417 stemmed from controlled substance violations, 44 from sex abuse complaints with only two from sexual assaults. On average 392 dog reports or complaints are handled each year and a total of 4166 dog reports or complaints were heard throughout the decade.
