Pella High School students have been working with a new choir teacher this year, and the competition season is about to begin.
Jennifer Gaesser says there will be five show choir competitions happening over the next two months, including the annual Dutch Masters, where the Pella show choirs will perform in exhibition at Pella High School with several area schools coming to compete.
Gaesser has been excited to get to know all the students and their parents through what has already been a successful start to the school year.
“We have started out the year with the fall concert, kids did the music from the All State concert and the select and concert choir kids have been working on diving into singing some great literature as well. We also went into All State, where we had twenty four kids audition, six kids were recalled, two kids were selected as alternates, and one made it into the All State Chorus.”
The Pella High School show choirs Acapella and Bravo will have their first competition at DCG on Saturday, January 25. Dutch Masters will be held on February 21st and 22nd at Pella High.
