The Melcher-Dallas Saints were set for a doubleheader of hoops last night, but it was called off due to inclement weather in the area. The games against Orient-Macksburg have been rescheduled for Thursday, January 16th.
The Saints will next play on Tuesday when they travel to Murray for a Bluegrass Conference match-up. The Saints hosted Murray on Monday earning a split with the girls winning 38-22, and the boys losing 87-49.
Girls head coach Kelsey Goff says their defense has been key in the recent success.
“I think coming back from the break what we’ve done very well these past two games is our defense, we’ve held some teams like I said Murray, to 2 points in one quarter of the second half of the win the we got here at home besides a 3 pointer at the very end that went in and we held them to 9 points, you know and so I think that’s been one of our main focuses which we went over break was our defense and it has continued to be that and will be that.”
The Saints’ game on Tuesday will be at Murray High School, with the girls game tipping off at 6pm, and the boys following.
