Two Knoxville women were arrested Thursday following a short foot pursuit. According to court documents law enforcement officers observed two women, 21-year-old Larissa Golden and 20-year-old Gabrielle Sang, both of Knoxville, parked in a vehicle in the 400 block of East Pleasant Street in Knoxville. When the two women noticed law enforcement driving near them, they allegedly exited the vehicle and began running in opposite directions. Following a short foot pursuit, Sang was detained at the corner of 5th and Marion Street and Golden was detained in the 500 block of East Marion Street. Officers located .6 grams of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana in a coin purse later identified as Sang’s as well as .85 grams of a crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, a digital scale, syringes and a glass pipe in a backpack being carried by Golden. Sang advised officers she had heroin on her person and pulled a baggie containing .2 grams of a brown substance from her underwear. During the search of the vehicle officers located more drug paraphernalia.
In a separate incident this past November, detectives with Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement witnessed a confidential informant meet with Sang and exchange money for narcotics at Auld Park in Knoxville. The narcotics received from Sang were 2 grams of methamphetamine and.2 grams of marijuana. Sang was arrested and charged with five controlled substance violations, three class C felonies and two class D felonies as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. Golden was arrested and charged with two controlled substance violations, one a class C felony and the other a class D felony.
