Community 1st Credit Union made a donation to a local project aiming to provide housing to adults with special needs. The C1st Foundation gave a $5,000 grant to 818 Forward to Faith, and the group presented founders Judy and Jerry Fynaardt with a check last week. The grant will be used to help the organization construct a family-style home to give disabled adults opportunity to be neighbors, share experiences and relationships. The award was among community projects in Pella and Fairfield that received foundation quarterly presentations on Jan. 8 and 10 totaling $10,000. The project awards were made possible by grants from the C1st Credit Union Impact Giving Fund of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.
