The non-profit Grand Theater in Knoxville will host the first annual “Independent Cinema Day” tomorrow. As a member of the Independent Cinema Alliance (ICA) since 2019, the Grand Theater is asking movie goers in Knoxville to take part in a nationwide social holiday meant to help support their local independent cinemas. The Grand Theater is encouraging residents to share their experience on social media by taking pictures of themselves and post to their preferred social media channel using the hashtags #lovelocalcinema and #independentcinemaday.
