The Pleasantville Trojans traveled to Van Meter last night to take on the Bulldogs but ultimately fell short in both the boys and girls games. The boys game started off close and the Trojans went into the half down just 10 points, however the Bulldogs came out on fire making every shot and they pulled away with the victory 68-42.

The boys record has dropped to 5-5 after last night. Head Coach Joel Allman gave a lot of credit to the ability of Van Meter.

“Yeah they are a very good group the thing ill say with them is they’re use to being in big games they’re use to competing in no matter what sport it is so I think they really take that to the basketball court as far as when the game starts to get close when the games on the line, they make the right play, a lot of the time.”

The Pleasantville girls came out flat and let the Bulldogs jump to an early lead which they never let go, once the Trojans started to get things together the lead was just too big, they lost 65-23, dropping their record to 4-7.

They had points come from Malorie McKinney and Riley Thill who had 8 each, and Josie Hutchings came through for 5 herself.
