Today through Wednesday, the Knoxville Public Library is asking patrons to stop into the library and give their input as to what they would like included in the library’s new mural. Artist Kim DeSocio was awarded the first grant for Public Art at the library by the Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation and will be taking suggestions from the community as to what they would like to see. Director of the library Roslin Thompson tells KNIA/KRLS News DeSocio painted the library’s original mural in 2006 that can still be seen in the children’s librarian office. DeSocio will be at the library today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information and to schedule a time to give input, contact the Knoxville Public Library.
