A slushy, snowy mess will greet most Iowa residents for the rest of this week as warmer air comes, but with it, two rounds of snow and rain mixing. According to the National Weather Service, a total of 3-6 inches of snow will fall over through Friday evening, but temperatures near and above freezing will make it wet and slushy, with rain potentially mixing in during that time. Melting may occur as the precipitation falls, and winds are expected to stay below 20 miles per hour, especially Thursday and Friday. Travel will still be slick for many, especially as new snow and rain mixes with ice and snow that has fallen over the past few weeks. Driving may be hazardous especially in the overnight and early morning hours.
