After playing out of conference on Tuesday, the Knoxville Basketball Squads are back in the South Central Conference with the Panthers heading to Bloomfield to face Davis County. The girls are coming off quite possibly their most important win of the season in defeating Pella on Tuesday 35-32. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KRLS Sports the Davis County Gym has at times been a house of horrors for the Panthers and the Mustangs are a better team than what they have shown.

Uitermarkt:
“We’ve had years that should have handled them easy but we went to overtime or double overtime. They’re better than the scores look and they’ve had trouble putting the ball in the hole. We’re going to ramp up our defense and make sure that continues.”

The boys will try to establish another winning streak as they find themselves at the top of the South Central Conference after Albia’s loss to Centerville on Tuesday. Both boys and girls squads handled Davis County easily in the first meeting in December. You can hear the call on 95.3 KNIA starting with the pre game at 6:15.
