The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board held a discussion regarding the Marion County libraries fiscal year 2020 funding requests to increase as well as the Marion County Humane Society contract to which the board chose not to take any action until after budgeting meetings are concluded. They held a discussion regarding the proposed Marion County Courthouse elevator project and county services to which Supervisor Mark Raymie layed out the process for the county moving forward. According to the board, the county is considering a potential move to the old East Elementary building in Knoxville when construction on the new elevator begins in the spring. The board received and filed the Marion County Treasurer’s semi-annual report as well as approved the assignment of a tax sale certificate for a rural county property. They approved a resolution regarding the drainage easement for surfaces associated with the reconstruction of the Weiler Drive and Highway 14 intersection as well as approved a public hearing date for February 11th 2020 regarding the proposed Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2020/2021.
