The Indianola School Board approved the school calendar for the 2020-21 school year at their most recent meeting Monday, with some changes being made from previous years. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News a committee of teachers working with administration recommended giving teachers more flexibility on training.
“Our director of teaching and learning has said that the ideal learning for teachers is that every four to six weeks you have training, do learning research, implement it, and practice while it is still fresh during the school year rather than bunched up at the beginning or the end. We have more time spread out throughout the year for that.”
The school year will have school beginning on August 25th, and end on May 27th with the seniors last day being May 21st. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
