The PCM Mustang girls and boys basketball teams earned a home sweep and season sweep of the Greene County Rams Tuesday, 67-18 in the girls game and 57-50 in the boy’s. The Mustang girls were led by senior Regan Freland who finished with 19 points on the night. PCM would see contributions from every Mustang as every girl on the roster would score in the lopsided win. PCM moves to 7-8 on the year and will next face Montezuma on Thursday.

The boys game would see a more competitive game as the Rams of Greene County would come out hot to start the game and lead 14-12 after one quarter of play. PCM would gather themselves in the second quarter and would go into the break with a 30-27 halftime lead. Senior Derek Brown would take over in the second half and lead the Mustangs with a game high 23 points to give PCM the 57-50 win. The seven point win was a stark difference to the 30 point win at Greene County in December to which Head PCM Coach Fred Lorensen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Rams added some shooters and definitely played harder than his Mustangs throughout the game. He says his squad prides themselves on being the hardest playing team on the court but that wasn’t the case for much of the game. PCM improves to 10-5 on the year and will look to stretch their three game win streak to four as they take on Montezuma on Thursday.
