The Pleasantville basketball teams traveled to Chariton for non-conference action Tuesday evening, in a doubleheader that was made up from an earlier postponement. The girls game went into overtime, but the Trojans snapped a nine-game skid with a 58-53 victory. After falling behind at halftime, Pleasantville got back in it in the third, and the Trojans outscored the Chargers 12-7 in the overtime period to seal the victory. Malorie McKinney knocked in 24 points to lead the way, while Rachel Harvey added 15. The Trojans improve to 5-9 on the season.
The Pleasantville boys continued their trend of alternating wins and losses, falling 71-57. The Chargers used strong first and third quarters to put the game away. A late surge by the Trojans was not enough to complete the comeback. Pleasantville falls to 7-7 overall, and both teams will be back in action Thursday and West Central Valley for a West Central Conference doubleheader.
