The annual All-City Speech night for the Pella community will be held this evening. The event bringing Pella and Pella Christian speech students together will be held starting at 7 p.m. at Pella High School. Performance events include: readers theatre, choral reading, one-act play, ensembles, musical theatre, and film. Both Pella Christian and Pella Community schools will be performing all of their events at Iowa High School Speech Association competitions on Saturdays, but the evening is a night for both schools to showcase their pieces to each other. The public is invited and there will be a free-will donation to benefit both schools’ speech programs. From Pella High School, 14 of their 18 events advanced to state, and from Pella Christian, all six of their acts advanced to the next round after Saturday’s district competition.
