The Pleasantville basketball teams were in action Thursday at West Central Valley. The Trojan girls trailed by nine at halftime, and fell in a close 48-43 decision. Despite slightly outscoring the Wildcats in the third and fourth quarters, Pleasantville was unable to complete the comeback. Malorie McKinney led the way with 12 points while Faith Vanderhart added 10. Pleasantville falls to 5-10 overall and 0-8 in the West Central Conference.
The Pleasantville boys had no trouble in a 69-23 win. The Trojans set the tone with a 24-5 lead after the first quarter. Pleasantville coasted offensively after halftime, but held the Wildcats scoreless in the third quarter to help seal the win. Pleasantville improves to 8-7 overall and 6-5 in the conference.
The Trojans are back in action this evening, hosting Madrid in a conference doubleheader. Both games will be broadcast on KNIA3 with Nathan Sage and Tom Wilkins calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at 6:15, with the tipoff of the girls game at 6:30.
Pleasantville’s wrestlers were also in action Thursday, hosting a triangular with Panorama and Lynnville-Sully. The Trojans had no problems with Lynnville-Sully, winning 66-12, but fell to Panorama 48-27. Pleasantville is off until Sectionals at Ogden on Saturday, February 8th.
