The Knoxville Wrestling Squad will embark on the postseason as the class 2A sectionals get underway on Saturday in Albia. The young Panthers are 13-8 in dual meets this season with a team title under their belts and several individual first place finishes sprinkled throughout the season. Coach Doug Hatch tells KRLS Sports he thinks his grapplers are ready for a tough sectional field on Saturday.
Hatch:
“Right now we’ve got a good source of guys going into Sectionals. I think shape wise we’re ready, technique wise we’ve a few things to iron out.”
Hatch adds mentally is where it’s still a question mark with so many younger kids he says you never know where they are from one meet to the next, but he is confident in their ability. The Panthers could have as many as 8-10 wrestlers Saturday with winning records vying for a spot at the District next week in Knoxville.
