Both of the Tulip City basketball teams hit the road as the end of the conference season draws near.
Pella will travel to Highway 163 archrival Oskaloosa, while Pella Christian hits the road to Grimes for a rematch from Monday against the Fillies and Mustangs.
The Little Dutch and Lady Dutch will look to repeat the results of the sweep at home against the Indians. The longest winning streak of the season so far for the 10-8 Pella girls is on the line, especially as they try to build momentum for the impending playoffs.
Pella’s No. 2 ranked boys in Class 3A will be seeing the defending 3A champions with a healthy Xavier Foster, in what could be a rematch in the Class 3A Substate playoffs later this month. Head Coach Derek Schulte says while there could be a third matchup between the teams, they want to play their best basketball regardless of the stakes, especially as the regular season winds down.
Pella Christian’s boys are hoping for a better result and are looking to snap a three-game funk that included a 64-56 loss on Monday to DCG, a result they are looking to reverse tonight against that same team just four days later. The Eagles girls are still battling for momentum as well, knowing they are just over a week away from their postseason journey starting.
Coverage from both Tulip City basketball games tonight begins at 6 p.m. — hear Pella Christian at DCG on 92.1 KRLS and the Dutch and Indians from Osky on the KRLS2 stream at KNIAKRLS.com.
