The Indianola girls and boys basketball squads go for the season sweep of Oskaloosa tonight on their home gym, after each squad blew out the other Indians on the road in mid-January. The Indians girls are fresh off of an upset of Grinnell and sit just a game out of first place, and face an Osky squad that hasn’t won since their season opener in November. Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports Osky is much better than their record shows, as they have stuck with some of the top teams in the conference as of late.
“Oskaloosa was just down 31-30 at halftime to a top Grinnell squad so we know they can play regardless of their record, and we need to be ready to go Tuesday and defend home court.”
The Indians boys also took care of business in their first matchup 69-47, but Osky was without 7-footer Xavier Foster who is now healthy. The games can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6pm, with tip-off at 6:15.
