The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad will head to the road tonight against a new team on the Panthers schedule. Knoxville will travel to Martensdale-St. Mary’s out of the Pride of Iowa Conference. While the Blue Devils are a 1A team, Coach Jeff Larson tells KRLS Sports no one should take Martensdale’s 17-3 record lightly.

Larson:
“They’re a solid basketball team and they’re juniors so they’ll be back next year. We’ll have to play well over there and compete hard to be in the game, we’ll do the things we do and see what happens and hopefully we’re at full strength.”

The Panthers should have leading scorer Kieren Nichols back after being out with an illness for the last two games, both Knoxville loses. It could also be rather historic night for Nichols as he is just six points shy from becoming the fourth boys basketball player in Knoxville history to score 1,000 for his career. Nichols is set to join Brad Davis, Mark Godfrey, and John Carle in the 1,000 point club. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
