Central College’s music department will present its 41st annual Jazzmania later this week. The concert will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, in the Recital Hall of Cox-Snow Music Center. It is free and open to the public. Jazzmania will feature the Central College Jazz Band, as well as vocalists Molly Lehr, a 2008 Central graduate, and Jake Schulte, a senior at Pella High School. Also performing is special guest Ashanti, the Latin jazz musical group led by Gabriel Espinosa, Associate Professor of music at Central. The 10th-12th Grade Central Singfest is set for Thursday, Feb. 13, at Central, another all-day event. It also will wrap up with a 7 p.m. concert in Douwstra featuring the Festival Choir and Central’s A Cappella Choir. It’s free and open to the public. An ALMA Concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, in the Recital Hall of Cox-Snow. Cost is $5 or free with a Central ID. The final concert of February is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, when the Symphonic Wind Ensemble performs in Douwstra.
