With four new members on the Indianola School Board, a priority was put in place during the election season to increase the communication level with school staff from the board. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News there has been a lot of positive feedback from staff on the board making an effort to reach out.
“The board has made it a priority to get out and introduce themselves to staff and get out amongst the schools. We have added a board reports section early on in meetings for them to share the things they have seen when they are out and about, and it’s been a lot of positives so far. We have a makeup of the board with some members that have flexibility with their job, and several retired members, and that is something they have the time and desire to do.”
Sathoff also said another priority from the board was to develop a safety committee, and that has been organized with the heads of various emergency departments and experts in the area.
