Pleasantville senior Cale Anthony has officially signed to play football at Iowa State University after a ceremony was held at Pleasantville High School Friday afternoon. Anthony will join the Cyclones as a walk-on after leading Class 1A in rushing yardage in his senior campaign. Anthony says the coaching staff was a major reason he picked Iowa State.
“I fell in love with the campus taking a visit up there, and their coaching staff seemed very nice and people I’d like to be around,” he says.
Anthony was a first team All-State selection this past football season, and helped lead the Trojans back above .500 in his final campaign. He rushed for 1793 yards, and his 25 rushing scores were second most in Class 1A as well. Anthony will compete on the Trojan track and field team before graduating and embarking on his first season as a Cyclone.
