The following area wrestlers qualified for the 2020 state meet:

In Class 3A, the Indianola wrestling team qualified their entire team to compete at Wells Fargo Arena next Wednesday in the dual tournament, and followed that up by qualifying six wrestlers individually on Saturday.

Headed to the state meet include:
Ryder Downey – 113lbs – 1st
Cooper Belt – 120lbs – 1st
Brennan Meacham – 152lbs – 2nd
Nick Bonnano 160lbs – 1st
Caleb Watson 182lbs – 2nd
Miles Berg – 195lbs – 2nd

Pella’s Kody Huisman wrestled back to take 2nd place and a bid to state in the 220 pound weight class at the Des Moines, East site that also featured Indianola.

In Class 2A, the PCM Mustangs will send 132 pounder Landon Fenton, 138 pounder Payton Drake, and 152 pounder Colby Tool to the state meet.

Matthew Kauffman of Pleasantville (36-5) placed 2nd in the 285 pound weight class at the Pleasantville 1A District Site and also qualified.

The state wrestling meet will take place this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena. The state dual tournament will start on Wednesday.
