A congressman from California visited Knoxville last week to meet with city leaders. Congressman Ro Khanna was in Iowa last week to witness the Iowa Caucus and while he was here, he took time to meet with members of the Knoxville community including Superintendent Cassi Pearson, Knoxville Hospital and Clinics CEO, Kevin Kincaid, City Manager Aaron Adams, city council member Dylan Morse, Megan McKay with Peace Tree Brewing and Chamber Director Hannah Vander Veer. Vander Veer tells KNIA/KRLS News Congressman Khanna was instrumental in bringing technology jobs to Jefferson, Iowa and members of the Knoxville community wanted to show the Congressman what Knoxville has to offer as well as to pick his brain on ways to bring more jobs to Knoxville. Khanna’s visit comes following the recent acquisition of the Knoxville VA District in which members of the community who spoke with Khanna anticipate potential future growth for the city.
