As the first legislative funnel date approaches at the state capitol, Senator Amy Sinclair isn’t too concerned as her work over the past weeks as chair of the Education Committee has already helped push the bills she has been working on through committees, including her priority bill regarding disruptive classroom behavior. Sinclair who also serves on the Government Oversight Committee, which according to Sinclair is a funnel proof committee, still has a few bills she would like to see continue to proceed. Sinclair tells KNIA/KRLS News a bill she is continuing to work on would provide transparency in government paid lobbying. She says if a city, county or state agency pays for lobbying efforts the bill would provide transparency to any contract, lobbying efforts done on behalf of that government entity as well as what is produced by the lobbyist. Sinclair says another bill she also has in the works would make the county Board of Supervisors solely responsible for the maintenance and security of county courthouses.
