A Melcher-Dallas man was arrested recently after a search warrant conducted at his home turned up over 100 grams of material containing THC. On Tuesday, February 11th detectives with Mid Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of SE. 1st Street in Melcher. During the search detectives located the homeowner, 56-year-old Jimmy Vanderecken inside as well as multiple devices used to ingest THC products, brown THC wax substance, and multiple baggies containing green leafy material that field tested positive for THC and had a total weight for 107 grams. Vanderecken admitted to owning and consuming the items located in his home as well as distributing the products. Vanderecken was arrested and charged with a controlled substance violation, a class D felony, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony, as well as keeping premises or vehicle for controlled substances, an aggravated misdemeanor.
