Fighting for their conference tournament spot, the Simpson men’s basketball team will have to go through #6 Nebraska Wesleyan tonight, while the Storm women are fighting for seeding on their home court. The Storm men are currently 5-9 on the season in conference play, good enough for sixth place in the conference standings, but sit in a tie with Wartburg who plays against second place Loras. The Storm women have battled injuries all season long and currently hold the fifth place in the conference, but are just a game back of Coe to host a home game. Assistant coach Moran Lonning tells KNIA Sports
“I think the main thing is we have to keep pushing. Keep knowing that we can score in transition, keep in attack mode, and we don’t want to be in a halfcourt game. That’s when we play best. Each game we are just taking it one game at a time and that’s all we’re thinking about.”
Action starts tonight at 5:30pm.
