Both Tulip City bowling teams had their seasons end in the state qualifying meets Tuesday.

Pella could not overcome a loaded field in both the boys and girls substate rounds,as the Pella boys placed 6th with a team score of 2497, while the Lady Dutch were 5th with a 1927 overall. Head Coach Mike Norman says Sydney Stursma bowled the 2nd highest game in Lady Dutch program history (181), as well as the 5th high individual round series (313). The girls also posted a new 4th high baker game (175) and 2nd high baker round (692).

Pella Christian placed 5th among the boys at the Muscatine site with a score of 2461. Devin Haveman was the top scoring Eagle with a 384 individual two-game mark, 14th best at the 1A district site. Pella Christian’s girls did not qualify for state either, and no team scores were available from the Louisa-Muscatine site beyond those who qualified.
