Two Pella residents suffered serious injuries in a crash Friday evening in northwest Iowa.
According to Pella Christian High School, Anne Bandstra and her daughter Ella, a freshman at PCHS, sustained injuries in a collision Friday. Both were flown by helicopter to a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. According to the family, on a post through Pella Christian High School, both are expected to survive but they remain in the hospital for further evaluation.
KLEM Radio reports the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the two-vehicle accident that happened late Friday afternoon at approximately 5 p.m. north of Remsen at the intersection of County Roads C-16 and L-14.
The investigation report indicated that a Hummer driven by 39-year old Michelle Rose of Hinton was eastbound on C-16 when she failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the northbound Nissan Rogue driven by Bandstra.
