The season has come to a close for the PCM girls basketball team. The Mustangs finished fifth in a loaded Heart of Iowa Conference, and bowed out to a highly-ranked North Polk team in regional action. Four seniors will be departing the program in Kate McCarthy, Alexis Kuecker, Sierra Foster and Regan Freland. Head Coach Jeff Lindsay says each one of them provided something special this season, and throughout their Mustang basketball careers.
“Kate has just improved, and has found this year different things that she’s able to do on the floor. And it was fun to see that light bulb come on with her. Lexi kind of ran into that problem with the height issue. But she always competed. Sierra Foster, she came miles this year. Regan, she’s done a great amount of things. She’s got the scoring record, just a ton of postseason honors over her career here.”
The Mustangs finished 10-13 overall and 7-7 in the Heart of Iowa Conference.
