As Pella seeks its first state tournament bid since 2017, the depth of the Dutch has been a defining feature despite losing critical players from last year’s roster.

But the return of one key player has transformed Pella’s high-motor offense into a nightly force, as arguably the most-rounded player in the deep Little Hawkeye Conference has added a new dimension to the No. 2 ranked Dutch this season.

Treyton Sturgeon has had a banner, all-conference caliber season since returning from a devastating knee injury that ended his junior campaign before it got off the ground. The do-it-all senior leads Pella in rebounds (7.8 per game), blocked shots (26), steals (39), and is 2nd on the team with his 14.5 points per game and 61 assists.

Hear from Sturgeon about his comeback from injury and his thoughts about the 2020 Pella postseason run and his team on tonight’s Radio Sports Page, airing at 6 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
