The YMCA is still in the midst of their annual fundraising campaign, which is focused during the month of February but takes place throughout the year. Executive Director Heather Hulen tells KNIA News the YMCA is a charity organization, and all monetary funds help make up the gap in their budget to allow all in the area to take advantage of Y services.
“Our main theme this year is This Is Our YMCA. So making sure everyone understands that the dollars that we raise stay right here in the community. The dollars stay with the people, they are used for people, it’s all about our people and the promise that we make for them, that the YMCA is a place for all regardless of financial status.”
Hulen also said donating to the cause is easy, either purchase a membership, participate in programs, or ask for a pledge form. The goal of the fundraising campaign is to reach $90,000 in contributions.
