The Indianola boys basketball squad has advanced to the substate semifinal game tomorrow evening, and go on the road to take on a Johnston team that has played some of the top teams in the state. According to the BCMoore.com rankings, Johnston has already played top ranked Ankeny Centennial twice, third ranked Waukee, and 10th ranked Ankeny twice, good enough for one of the toughest schedules in the state. Indianola head coach Brett Watson tells KNIA Sports the Dragons are going to present a physical challenge.
“We play them in other sports so we know they are going to be tough and physical with a lot of good athletes. We know they are a very good ball club with some huge wins, and we are playing on their home floor with a lot of confidence, so we will have to play our best basketball.”
The Indians are currently ranked 12th in class 4A, while Johnston is ranked 9th.
