The Indianola School Board ratified an extension of the contract with the Indianola Education Association at their meeting Monday evening, with the deal running through 2023. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the stability that brings to the district is good for everyone.

“What it really does is it gives the district three more years of certainty of what the expenses will be in terms of personnel and what we need to allocate to that. And it gives teachers peace of mind, and both sides a break of collective bargaining which can be contentious. It really is a win-win, I’m extremely happy for the teachers to have that knowledge of what it’s going to be for the next three years, and I think it will be good for the school district too.”
