The No. 2 ranked Pella boys basketball team is aiming to keep the 2020 postseason rolling as they welcome conference foe Grinnell in the Class 3A Substate semifinals this evening.
The Little Dutch did little wrong in a 95-53 opening rounder win over Centerville, which came after Grinnell dominated Knoxville in a 77-54 rout in the doubleheader Monday.
Pella, standing at 17-5 overall, holds the regular season sweep over the 7-15 Tigers, winning 76-57 on January 27th and 79-44 on Valentine’s Day. Head Coach Derek Schulte says that in a tournament format, he anticipates the third round may look different, especially as both teams play with elimination hovering over their heads.
Coverage of the Class 3A postseason and Pella basketball begins at 6:30 p.m. this evening on 92.1 KRLS, kniakrls.com, and the free KRLS mobile app, with opening tip at 7 p.m. from Pella High School.
