The Indianola boys basketball squad travels to Johnson High School tonight to take on the Dragons in the substate semifinal. The Indians dispatched Des Moines East in the quarters in blowout fashion 89-53, but face a Johnston team that has won its last six games including wins over WDM Valley and Ankeny. Head coach Brett Watson tells KNIA Sports their season is on the line, but the Indians won’t be affected by the pressure.
“Our mantra is there is no finish line. We just want to keep going and see how long it can go. Who knows how long that will be, but we just want to have the mindset of no finish line and just let the chips fall where they may.”
The game can be heard live tonight on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6:45pm, with tip-off scheduled for 7pm.
