Knoxville Hospital & Clinics was recently named a 2020 Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. This annual award honoring rural hospital performance is determined by the results of iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength INDEX®, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2020. Knoxville Hospital and Clinics CEO Kevin Kincaid tells KNIA/KRLS News the reason the hospital was ranked in the top 100 was because of their clinical outcomes and patient perceptions. Kincaid says those areas focus on what people think of the hospital as well as what  the hospital can prove with its clinical outcomes. He says the Knoxville Hospitals and Clinics scored extremely high in those areas compared to the over 1,300 hospitals evaluated nationwide. The INDEX assesses performance across eight pillars of performance. Hospitals recognized as a Top 100 facility had one of the 100 highest overall scores among all Critical Access Hospitals nationally.
