Race fans will have the opportunity to help give back to the drivers they watch at the Knoxville Raceway Saturday nights as the Knoxville Racing Charitable Organization’s 9th Annual Fundraising Extravaganza will be held this evening. Organizer of the event, Maureen Nichols tells KNIA/KRLS News people should come to the extravaganza as proceeds from the event go towards helping provide insurance policies, safety equipment and donations to drivers at the Knoxville Raceway. Nichols says it’s a fun event after a long winter without racing. She says people can get out of the house and have some fun with some of their favorite drivers. The event will be held at Dyer-Hudson Hall on the Marion County Fairgrounds. Both a silent and live auction will be held with the silent auction beginning at 4 p.m. and the live auction at 7 p.m. Admission is free but the meal, which is provided by Checkered Flag Concessions, is $10.
