The PCM Girls Basketball team had nothing short of an up-and-down season. The Mustangs finished in the middle of the pack in a very diverse Heart of Iowa Conference. North Polk rose to the top as the outright champion, and is one of two teams in the conference to make it to the state tournament. The Comets made it in Class 3A while Gilbert qualified in Class 4A. Head Coach Jeff Lindsay says that speaks for the vast talent difference in the league, and the results of the Mustangs’ games showed that.

“I just think other than the Nevada and South Hamilton games, we either had some really tough teams or some not-so-tough teams. Then you had Nevada and South Hamilton who were probably pretty similar to what we were, and that’s why we had those close games there with those two teams.”

PCM finished 10-13 overall and 7-7 in the conference.
