The Pella Hy-Vee made a donation of $5,000 to the Wonder Spelen Miracle Playground project Saturday. Store Director Derek Sparks presented a check to the Pella Kiwanis Club, which are the organizers of a non-profit organization set up to create an inclusive playground at Kiwanis Park north of Downtown Pella. Wonder Spelen has worked with playground designers to develop a plan that includes interactive playground equipment, accessible bathrooms, and sensory play equipment. The proposed plan for completion is scheduled in two phases for Summer 2020 and 2021. The playground will include an 80’ x 80’ playground, as well as parking spaces, shade, benches and an accessible restroom.
