Iron sharpens iron, at least in the Little Hawkeye Conference, who will once again be well represented at the state boys basketball tournament next week in Des Moines.

Pella, Pella Christian, and Norwalk have all qualified for the round of eight in their respective classes, with the Dutch and Warriors having to knock out fellow conference members Oskaloosa and DCG to advance out of substate.

The three teams qualifying continues a recent tradition of Little Hawkeye Conference representation in the boys state tournament — Norwalk and Oskaloosa matched up in the 3A finals last year, and Pella and Pella Christian both qualified in the same seasons from 2015 to 2017.

No. 7 Pella Christian will open their tournament run against No. 2 Treynor on Monday at 6:30 p.m., which can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS. Pella will learn their tournament bracket Thursday morning, as two substate games remain on the schedule this evening. Pella’s state tournament run can also be heard on KRLS.
